Welcome to my OCA Learning Log

I'm using this blog to show my work and progress towards completing my BA Hons in Creative Arts through distance learning with the Open College of the Arts (OCA).

I am very excited about starting to study and hopefully, eventually, gaining a degree level qualification. It is something that I have wanted to do for a long time.
I currently work part-time for Cats Protection, have a partner and two young sons, as well as pets and a house to look after so distance learning was really the only way for me!
It has been quite a while since I have sketched, drawn or painted so I think I need a bit of practice but I can't wait to get started. I am hoping that the course will help me to get back into the habit of drawing regularly, greatly improve the quality of my work and familiarise me with the ways of distance learning. This should then prepare me to continue on with the other courses confidently and hopefully gain a degree level qualification.

To obtain my degree I will need to complete seven courses. Three of the courses will be at level 1, two of the courses at level 2 and two at level 3. The courses will all be drawing and painting based.
As I'm studying through distance learning, and fitting my study around everything else, it will take me about six years to complete meaning that my blog will build up slowly over a long period of time.

This blog will contain all research points, exercises, assignments and notes throughout the course modules and various levels of study. I will also include any inspirations and experiences I have along the way and any additional or personal projects that I complete.

On the right hand side are pages for the different courses, research points and inspirations and anything else that I feel I need to add along the way!
